Math Solver AI — Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-10-24
Math Solver AI is a Chrome extension. This page explains what data it handles and why. We only use data to provide the extension's features.
What we process
- What you ask about. The screen area you select, a photo you upload, or text you type is sent to our server and passed to an AI model through OpenRouter to produce the answer. We don't store it, and we don't use it to train models.
- Install ID. A random ID created when you install the extension. It counts your free uses and links your rating feedback. It doesn't identify you as a person.
- Cookie on our server. Our server sets a cookie named
did with the same random ID so the free-use count survives reinstalling. It is kept for up to 2 years and is only read by our server.
- Google account ID. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account's numeric ID to count your daily uses. We don't store your name or email.
- IP address. Used to limit how many free requests come from one network per day.
- Feedback. If you rate the extension 1–3 stars and write a comment, we store the score, your comment, the extension version and the interface language.
- Usage statistics. Anonymous events such as "solved a problem" or "opened the panel", with the install ID, extension version and browser language, sent to PostHog to understand which features work. No page content, problem text, images or account details are included.
In your browser the extension stores the install ID, your language choice and whether it already asked for a rating.
Who processes it
- Google Cloud: our server and database (usage counters, feedback).
- OpenRouter and the AI model provider it routes to: the content of your request, to generate the answer.
- PostHog: anonymous usage statistics.
- Google: sign-in, if you choose to sign in.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or transfer your data to third parties outside the cases above.
- We don't use or transfer data for advertising, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
- We don't read pages you visit. The extension only sees a page when you click it and select an area.
The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Keeping and deleting data
Usage counters are kept while they're needed for limits. Feedback is kept until we no longer need it. To delete your data, uninstall the extension and write to the support email on the extension's Chrome Web Store page; we'll remove what we hold for you.
Changes
We'll update this page if the extension starts handling data differently, and change the date above.
